In my opinion, I think that social network should exists even though there is a missuse of social network. Besides that we as a user we able to control with our own moral and ethnic. Moreover the government can implement harsh punishment towards to user that missuse of the social network
I agree with Syie How. As we all know, it's never the fault of technology but the users who make use of it.
It's undeniably that indeed technology or social network in this context had bring about improvement and also serve as a means to globalization. Despite all the negative issues like spreading of hatred, nude, framing and so on. We should look at a bigger picture that is "improvement". And those negative issues can actually be controlled. It's just a question of want or don't want. Like what the people used to say, there will be surely some rotten apples in a big apple tree, and similarly there will be surely some bad people in the world, so the question remains now is how to control those bad people.
Everything can be a double-edge sword. If it use it correctly, than it brings us the positive result and vice-versa.
Therefore, I think social network should not be banned in Malaysia. We should always look into the bigger picture. Don't let the enlargement of petty issues affect us!
I agree with Syie How too.In my opinion,social network should exist since it has a positive effect on the society. Social network enables us to communicate with anyone and anywhere and makes our society globalized since everyone who has connection to new media technology is able to communicate with anyone they want. This gives us an opportunity to learn about different cultures, religion and different societies.
We should use social networks wisely n smartly so that it will not cause any harmful effect to our society and our daliy life too.
I agree to a half. As what Vanmie said, social network just like a double-edged sword which has its pros and cons. The existence of the social network is an interest issue that argues by lots of people today.
Some political party argues that social network should be banned in Malaysia due to lots of social issue and problem which is cause by this. For example, some people willing to ignore their household affairs and spend most of their time on playing Facebook. However, some psychologist forecast the banned in the use of social network seem to be not giving much effect to overcome the social issue. The society may change their addiction in another way if social network has been banned. A case in point is teenagers may fall addict in watching television program instead of playing facebook which result in ignore their other daily activities same like facebook addiction. The main problem is the user behavior but not the existence of social network. If social network successfully banned in Malaysia, the consequence is not only in the interruption of the social connection in the society but the country economy too. This is due to the advertisement function on social network has make a lot of company promote their goods online become a trend. The sales of the goods will be decrease if they can’t promote their goods online.
The fact that social network has colored and yet make an improvement on our life is undeniable. We can contact with our current friend or make new friend on social network anytime and anywhere just with a few click. The usage of social network is more economic than contact through cell phone which we need to pay for each message or each call. The question here is who is the person that we actually contact to? In this case, we can found that some people deliberate attempt to hide their true identity or make another identity and personality for certain purpose. According to newspaper report, some people have been cheat and their life have been endangered by this type of virtual friend. Beside, identity stolen and personal information been stoled by the hackers was another case that we need to pay attention with. Some people believed these cases won’t appear if the social network is not existence.
For that reason, I agree to a point that social network should be exist in the world. The social network itself does not bring any positive nor negative effect on the society but the people who use it. Anyway, the existence of the social network still need to be argue due to it act as a medium for those cases.
